THE PROJECT:

Longtime triathlon athlete, Didi, had a sudden accident and found herself confined to a chair. That didn't stop this athlete in finding a way to continue to compete in triathlons with help from her teammates, friends and family. A team representative reached out to AQ Dsgn to see if there was interest on our end. They requested quite the package of all the favorite projects like: logos, branding, art direction, and merchandise  development.

THE PROCESS:

The confidence was high after our meeting, and I felt like I was about to be apart of something very unique in the sports world. The members of SWS were very clear as to what they were looking for when it cam e to representation of their team. There was a need to have a cohesive bond between the three sports: Chair skiing, Wheel chair, and Shooting. Didi and her team wanted to represent all of these chair sports in one logo. So we came up with the main symbol which was a wheel and deconstructed that symbol to conjure up the other two. Parts and pieces were moved around to construct both the chair ski and target symbols. Textures were made up of a repeated pattern of the wheel chair symbol for another element to be used for marketing. Colors blue and orange were chosen for their athletic and excitement feels. The team has decorated the wheel covers for Didi's racing chair and the team made some amazing caps and hoodies to bring recognition to their athlete during races.
